We are so impressed with the aRISE Program. The confidence and growth we have seen in our daughter in just the last 5 weeks is astounding! She has become a girl empowered by her own willingness and drive to succeed.
Laura creates a risk-free learning environment, where her students feel comfortable to say, I don't know or I don't understand how to do that. She gets to know each of her students and creates a bond built on trust and respect. Laura learns their strengths and uses those to help her students overcome barriers in their learning. She is a wonderful educator.
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have our daughter excited and ready to go by 7:00 in the morning, waiting and ready to head to aRISE. She leaves the program everyday with just as much excitement, looking forward to the next challenge or to explain a new game she learned. It is truly a blessing to have found Laura and her aRISE program for our daughter!

The issues with education we have faced over the years have at times been overwhelming. We tried for years to make the school system work for our kids. I believe in the power of school and education, and in my mind this meant going to school. I thought if I was just involved enough, advocating enough, working hard enough, the school system could absolutely work for my kids. We could overcome any school problems with enough effort.
But here's the thing. School is a box. It is built on a foundation of strict rules and regulations.
They teach in one way, on a rigid schedule and with no time for individualization based on needs.
And here's the thing in the real world we have thousands and thousands of different types of jobs.
Why can't we find ways to accommodate different learning styles, different energy levels, different strengths and weaknesses?

after a few years of Chase struggling through school academically we decided to reach out to you to tutor him. You came highly recommended through social media and I had high hopes for his experience with you! Chase has been with you for 9 sessions now and you have completely blown me away with how much you have improved Chase’s literacy, writing and all round attitude towards learning! You really listened to my concerns with Chase and have addressed everything head on. You are great with keeping me updated with his strengths and weaknesses. He enjoys his time with you as you have made learning fun for him without getting him off track. You are not only good at what you do, but you actually LOVE what you do! Seeing Chase succeed is just as important to you as it is for us and we are so grateful for you! There is no doubt in my mind that we made the right choice in having him tutored. Laura Bains has worked wonders with my son! He is a bit older, but we went through the same thing just waiting for things to click for him. Laura worked with him last Fall and the difference is night and day!

Lindsey Martell - she's here in CP - she worked with my son through the school day but is now offering sessions on weekends so it's easier for parents to get to ??. My son liked school, was always telling me about the cool things he learned, but was really struggling with reading, spelling, printing, etc. Laura was able to figure out what was holding him back and came up with ways to make these things make sense for him. Honestly, I'm amazed at the progress she helped him make! He's in grade 8 now but I had been concerned about it for a long time - just didn't know what to try. I wish I had found her sooner, but I'm very happy with what she achieved with him.
